About
Reed and Flax is a faith-based community organization that focuses on serving the demoralized, downtrodden, disabled, impoverished, and marginalized members of society.
The organization’s name and mission come from Isaiah 42:3, “A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out; he will faithfully bring forth justice.” This verse signifies God’s gentle and compassionate approach to those who are weak or struggling, promising not to extinguish their faint hope or further harm their fragile state.
At Reed and Flax, each consumer works independently with a rehabilitation counselor to assess their goals, disabilities, environment, and the workplace and how all these areas work together to achieve their independent living goals.
